SUMMARY:Tactical Long Gun 101 (TLG101)
DESCRIPTION:TLG 101 is designed to teach basic defensive firearms skill using a modern\, semi-automatic rifle\, Shotgun\, Lever Gun\, or Bolt Gun. \nThis course is designed for beginners and those who want a refresher on their fundamentals.  You will learn fundamental manipulation skills\, defensive ready positions\, loading and reloading techniques\, controlled pairs and stop shots\, and shooting from behind barriers. \nClass includes dry drills and a live fire component. \nThe ideal platform for this class is an Modern Sporting Rifle like the AR or AK platform. However\, lever and bolt action can be used in this class\, as well. Shotguns may be used in this class\, as well.  Preferred caliber is a service caliber (.38/9mm or higher for PCC\, .223/5.56 or higher for others).  NO GREEN TIP OR STEEL CORE AMMO!!! \nEquipment needs include: \n\nA functioning firearm\,\nminimum 3 Standard (not low capacity) magazines\na way to hold your magazines (battle belts\, and chest rigs welcome)\nif using a bolt or lever action\, a butt cuff or ammo pouch is highly recommended\,\nwrap around eye protection\na brimmed hat that is compatible with your hearing protection\n“in the ear” hearing protection with electronic muffs hearing protection. (like the Howard Leight Impact Sport). DESCRIPTION:Defensive Pistol 102 builds on what you learned in DP101. \nWe will continue to review draw/holster\, defensive shooting theory and techniques and continue to work with stress inoculation drills. Because firearms are mechanical objects which can fail\, we will be working with common types of malfunctions that occur to both semi-autos and revolvers (Type1\, Type 2\, and Type 3). \nBy the end of this course\, you will be well on your way to being able to reflexively fix firearms malfunctions.  Both revolvers and semi-autos can be used in the course. There is a recommended amount of ammo needed for the course. HOWEVER\, availability and cost concerns\, bring what you can afford to shoot. DESCRIPTION:The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. \nThis is a traditional\, instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. \nCourse topics include: gun safety rules\, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols\, ammunition knowledge and selection\, pistol selection and storage\, shooting fundamentals\, pistol inspection and maintenance\, marksmanship\, and shooting range safety. Additionally\, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. SUMMARY:Gun Safety And Handling Course
DESCRIPTION:The club has partnered with Dave Chang and his company\, Civilian Defense Concepts\, LLC along with our new member Anna Cousins to provide this Gun Safety And Handling Course. \nNew to the firearms world?  Need a refresher?\nCome spend a few hours with us to learn the rules of gun safety and some fundamental firearms handling skills that will get you on the range in no time.\nWe will cover topics like: \n\nFirearms Safety\nSafe Firearm storage\nConcealed Carry Permits\nLoading magazines\nAiming\nHold and stance\nAmmunition selection\nProper trigger press\n\nAnd more!\nYou do not need to own your own firearm.\nIf you have your own firearm\, please feel free to bring it.\nNO LIVE AMMO in the classroom.  This is a non shooting course. Range time will be set up individually with participants (if needed) as a separate class. \nDave is the lead instructor for Civilian Defense Concepts and brings over a quarter of a century of training experience to the table. He is currently an NRA Training Counselor (pistol\, rifle\, shotgun\, home firearms safety\, CCW)\, NRA Refuse to be a Victim instructor (crime prevention course)\, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer\, an NRA LE Certified Instructor (pistol\, patrol rifle\, and shotgun)\, Sig Sauer Academy Certified Semi-Auto Pistol Instructor and a graduate of their Master Pistol Instructor and Pistol Mounted Red Dot Optics Instructor programs. SUMMARY:NRA Women On Target Instructional Shooting Clinic
DESCRIPTION:This course is an introduction to handgun safety Pistol\, and basic shooting fundamentals. One on One instruction is provided to each student. You bring the ATTITUDE and the instructors will supply the knowledge and skill. The class will start promptly at 8:00 pm. Please try and arrive 15 minutes prior. The cost of the class is $100 for members $125 for non members. An invoice will be sent to you when you register for the class and payment is required at that time. When you register for the class\, you may not be given confirmation. Please\, only register once. An email will be sent to you a few days prior to the class with information. Please check your spam folder. If you have eye and ear protection\, please bring them. We will provide ear protection\, FIREARMS and ammunition .
